Haute On The Ranch: Summer Lovin' & Rodeo Nights

There’s something about the backside of Cowboy Christmas and the Fourth of July that has us daydreaming of those great western states and the summer rodeo trail. It could be all the social posts about days and nights in Calgary and knowing Cheyenne is just around the corner… or maybe it’s just who we’ll always be -- summer lovin’ cowgirls at heart.

So while we’re both here on the homefront -- preparing for the wild ride of parenthood that’s soon to come -- we couldn’t help but pull together some looks that any summer lovin’ cowgirl soul is sure find perfect for the season.

Knits in Neutral - Now, I know what you’re thinking… Knits? In July? Hang with me for a haute minute… These knits are certainly not your grandma’s sweater. We’re talking soft summer hues and loose knit weaves with the slightest of sheens.

The Laurel was sincerely love at first sight when we first saw her at market. The perfect length to style as a dress for some and a tunic for others, and a color and feel that’s just made to be worn from sunup to sundown. This is seriously a piece that you’ll re-style for years to come as the perfect layer to add a subtle touch of casual, sexy class to your day or nighttime look.

The Roslyn is another favorite because of its gorgeous dusty coral color -- which yes, we’re considering a neutral at this point. It’s like everyone’s favorite dusty rose, but with a little more sass. ;) Top it off on those cooler wild west evenings with The Perry duster and you’ve got yourself a match made in cowgirl heaven.

Sheer Summer Romance - For those who have a love for all things sheer and romantic, we know you’ll love this next collection. Between the beauty of the colors and the soft feel of the fabrics (hello Cannon Tank), you’ll be dreaming sweet summer dreams.

The Spring Valley with its broken floral pattern, embroidered yoke and chiffon softness is romantic perfection. And while normally we wouldn’t support sleeves in July, we really can’t help but think this might just be the ticket for a night in the grandstands watching a little rodeo action under the lights.

And if not The Spring Valley, then certainly The Toulon duster/kimono paired with The Cannon tank. Between the oh-so-soft feel of The Cannon and the beautiful steer skull pattern, you can basically consider all of our “favorite” boxes checked.

So there you have it. We hope if you're a summer lovin' cowgirl like us, you manage to snag yourself some summer rodeo action -- even if it can’t be the “Daddy of them all”... ;)

Til next time,

Sammie & Ryley
