Wrangler NFR Preview: Ten Rounds, Ten Styles & More!

Read the 2019 NFR Style Experience.

Welcome back to Haute On The Ranch! Before we get down to business, here are a few of my favorite outtakes from Ryley’s dirty thirty birthday bash. Yes, the cake was cut with a pocket knife… A huge shoutout to all the loving people who made this night one to remember (or not) for everyone in attendance!

Now, back on track… When the Wrangler NFR invades Sin City, women’s western apparel takes on a whole new fabulous life of its own. Don’t worry, you can still pack those favorite boots and jeans. But here are a few looks you may want to consider adding to that selection of classic western style.

Ten Rounds—Ten Styles

Ok... maybe a few more than ten...
Vegas By Day & Night: No Wardrobe Change Required
For the lady who wants to keep it simple and (maybe) in a carry-on!

Dallas Days
But some like to change things up a bit... Cool western charm by day...
Fort Worth Nights
...and sultry vintage boho style by night.
DOs… & DON’Ts
Fun fact: This year marks 30 YEARS of the WNFR Las Vegas. Some looks have come. Others have gone. Very few stand the test of 30 years. And in the case you’ve never been to the Wrangler NFR, here are some of our thoughts on the happenings around town.
DO: wear denim on denim… just DON’T match your denim selections.
DO: be bold (fringe, some sparkle, embroidery, lace)... DON’T be “all about that bling.” The overloaded rhinestone ship has sailed, my friends. You can safely leave your bedazzled anything and boot jewelry at home.
DO: wear black clothing with brown leather (boots, belts, jackets)... DON’T mix your leather colors (keep belts jackets and boots all brown or all black). Shades can vary, but keep colors in the same family.
DO: wear fringe! We love it on boots, belts, purses, jackets, tops, jewelry… DON’T leave home without it.
DO: wear turquoise with anything or any color. Turquoise is the newest neutral. It goes with everything!

DO: accessorize! Accessories make an outfit. Here are some great pieces to build fire in any looks you may already have packed. Boots, fringe, belts, rings, turquoise, oh my!

Accessories for the bold, rugged and beautiful.

Finally, some last minutes tips before you head out of town:
  • Check out the buckle presentation at South Point at least once.
  • MGM features some great concerts throughout the event. It’s a fun younger crowd for those looking to mingle.
  • Best nightlife is still the Mirage. Lots of contestants hang around for the fun bands and western dance tunes. All age groups, so go and have a great time.
  • Favorite Cowboy Christmas is at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Second favorite is The Sands.
  • Take advantage of the shuttles to and from the rodeo, shopping and major sponsor hotels. Save your money and your feet for shopping!

Best of luck and safe travels to all the contestants, family, friends and rodeo fans headed to the Wrangler NFR in 2014!
