The western way of life will forever be imprinted on Alex Callaghan’s heart, and it’s those enduring memories that moved her to start capturing and preserving western culture through photography.
Originally from the wide open prairies of Alberta, Canada, Alex grew up riding and show jumping horses. Now living in eastern Washington, she and her family have a cutting horse breeding and training operation.
Everyday on the ranch, there is something new to see and a new angle to snap. Alex says all of her surroundings make her want to pick up her camera and share her life with others.
“I get inspired by the things around me and in my day-to-day life,” said Alex. “Whether that is working horses, the people in my life, moments on the ranch, or our longhorn herd. I want to capture this lifestyle through my perspective, in a unique way, and ultimately preserve it.”
