Haute on the Ranch: Why Quilted Style Is Sew Trendy

Everything old is new again. That saying is particularly true when it comes to fashion. Styles are constantly recycled and trends are reborn, but always with a modern upgrade.
In the late 2010s, “granny chic” started having its moment. Evoking a sense of nostalgia, this trend, also known as “grandmillennial,” repopularized floral patterns, crocheted textures, ornate buttons and jewelry, ruffles and more. In a nod to traditional grandmother style but with a youthful twist, granny chic celebrated vintage charm.
On the heels of this antique aesthetic came quilting. In response to the pandemic when millions of Americans were at home looking for new hobbies to pass the time, many took up crafting. One of the crazes to come out of this sewing resurgence was upcycling – taking old quilts and blankets and transforming them into clothing.
And here we are today, with these two fashion movements merging together to produce the newest talked about trend, with a particular Texas designer leading the Western-inspired charge. It’s time to meet Ida Mae Home and learn about their one-of-a-kind, heirloom quality embroidered goods.
Who Is Ida Mae Home?
Established in her grandmother’s namesake, owner Kristin Kiseljack created Ida Mae Home as a way to honor tradition, family and good style. Based in Fort Worth, Ida Mae Home specializes in quilting detail, bringing her grandmother’s love of the art into the 21st century.
From pullovers and jackets to a variety of travel bags, each piece is handmade in Texas utilizing vibrant prints featuring florals, southwest, and cowboy designs. This stitched style showcases modern heritage fashion, harmonizing the past with the present and making an old idea new and fresh again.

Ida Mae Home first caught the attention of Savannah Sevens owner Ryley Wimer in early 2024. She had noticed one of Kiseljack’s designs on social media and found the embroidered item intriguing. As the Texas brand expanded their offerings, Wimer was hooked and knew these quilted beauties needed to have a home at Savannah 7s.
“These pieces are just so unique and represent our motto of western style, redefined,” said Ryley. “The quilting technique integrates legacy quality with present day patterns and cuts. And that’s Savannah 7s’ style – western tradition meets modern trends.”
Savannah 7s is proud to carry Ida Mae Home pullovers, jackets and travel gear, ranging from duffle bags to coin purses to hot tools totes. There are vibrant southwest graphics, whimsical boot prints and classic cowboy patterns.

Incorporate neutrals and pops of color with the quilted jackets and pullovers. Have fun playing with the shades of the layering piece, as shown in this photo pairing the deep olive moss tone of The Keiser top with the vibrancy of The Muskogee Jacket.
Keep it comfortable and casual, in particular with the Ida Mae Home pullovers. Recently Ryley wore The Fort Worth to Dallas Market and received numerous compliments on the style. She added trouser jeans and leather sneakers to complete the western relaxed look.
