Haute on the Ranch: Cheap Eats at the NFR

From daytime shopping to nightly arena action to afterparties, the National Finals Rodeo is a whirlwind of activity. If you don’t take time to eat, you’ll never have enough energy to keep up with the NFR’s pace. Las Vegas is one of those cities where you could empty your wallet on every meal. Luckily, there are some dining deals, you just have to know where to look!

In part three of Savannah Sevens NFR Insider Series, we’re highlighting owner Ryley Wimer’s favorite foodie tips with Haute on the Ranch: Cheap Eats at the NFR. Find out why she thinks brunch is the most important meal; who mixes the best margaritas; and where you can get a $20 steak dinner.

Brunch Hard

Although some All You Can Eat buffets in Las Vegas can get pricey, consider hitting one up for brunch. Ryley says adjusting your meal time to late morning allows you to get filled up before taking on the day’s activities without spending money on both breakfast and lunch. This way, you’ll have all the energy you need for Cowboy Christmas without additional stops during your shopping.

Best Sin City Margarita

Ryley takes her margaritas seriously and the selection at Vegas-born Nacho Daddy is at the top of her list. The Daddy’s Original Margarita has appeared on the “Best of Las Vegas” list, but her personal favorite is The Cadillac Margarita.

Additionally, Nacho Daddy has an affordable menu specializing in nacho plates with traditional and unconventional toppings. The location on the Strip is the best one to hit up because it’s less than two miles from Thomas and Mack Center, so an ideal spot to snack before the rodeo action.

Beef on a Budget

Every time Ryley’s parents attend the NFR, they have a tradition of dining on mouth watering prime rib at South Point Hotel. Inside the Coronado Cafe, ask for the house special: a juicy cut of prime rib served with a cup of soup or dinner salad + a baked potato or French fries for only $19.95. This is the perfect pit stop during World Series Team Roping at South Point arena, or after the NFR rodeo while waiting for the Gold Buckle Gala because they’re open 24 hours.
